Apple Product Release: On October 13th, tech giant Apple released an innovative batch of products that follow the company’s trend of producing breakthrough technology. The recent launch includes the HomePod Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, new MagSafe accessories and new sizes for both iPhones. As usual, these products live up to their hype.
The Practical HomePod Mini
The HomePod mini comes as a practical addition to the existing iHome system. Features such as stereo pairing and individual voice recognition for the best version of Siri yet already make it more than just a fancy new speaker, but Apple truly outdoes itself with the Intercom system. Intercom is exactly what it sounds like; voice messages can now be sent between each HomePod as well as any airpods in use, and voice messages can be sent as notifications to phones and CarPlay. The HomePod Mini adds a huge advantage in a little package to the smart home experience.
The iPhone 12
The highly-anticipated iPhone 12 is here. After releasing the hugely popular iPhone 11, Apple had a serious challenge to make their next big advancement for the iPhone. The iPhone 12 has gone far past its hype. Starting out with appearances, the overall size is reduced by 15% without sacrificing any display space. The soft, curved artistry of the iPhone 11 has been replaced by smooth, flat edges and bold colors, and the addition of new MagSAFE accessories complete the sci-fi aesthetic. But fashion is not sacrificed for durability, in fact, here it’s quite the opposite. For the infamously brittle screen, a new method of glassmaking called Ceramic Shield leaves the iPhone 12 with 4 times better drop performance than any iPhone to date, and it makes it one of the toughest smartphones on the market. Other than just aesthetic, the iPhone 12 delivers unprecedented performance. The combination of breakthrough 5-nanometer A14 bionic chip and the iPhone 12’s access to Verizons 5G Ultra Wideband enable SuperFast performance and graphics, as well as extraordinary download and upload speeds and far less internet bottlenecking in crowded spaces. The iPhone 12 now holds more power than any iPhone before it, and can even handle professional-level gaming. As usual, the cameras are the highest of quality, but photography is taken to an even higher level with the iPhone 12 Pro.
The iPhone 12 Pro
The iPhone 12 Pro has all the same features as the iPhone 12, but elevates the smartphone photography experience to unforeseen levels. The Pro Camera System has gotten an upgrade, starting with the new image signal processor found on the A14 Bionic chip. The new processor combined with the new system of optical image stabilization and Apple ProRAW gives photos a completely professional look and significant improvements to performance in low-light settings. On top of photography, the new ProVideo system is the first on a smartphone to record in Dolby Vision HDR, which produces cinema-quality videography. The updated camera system is jam-packed with groundbreaking technology worthy of its own blog post and sets Apple far ahead of its competitors.
Apple Continues to Set the Standard With this Latest Apple Product Release
Apple once again outdoes itself, and continues to not only advance the powers of modern technology but also push for sustainability. All products are continually made with recycled materials, the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro being the first to be made with 100% recycled rare earth metals in all of the magnets. Apple has a long way to go before being completely environmentally friendly but plans to be entirely carbon-neutral by 2030. For now, their products have begun to set the standard for sustainability and environmental ethicality. The prices start at $99 for the HomePod Mini, $799 for the iPhone 12, $699 for the smaller iPhone 12 Mini, $999 for the iPhone 12 and $1099 for the bigger iPhone 12 Max. All products will be available for pre-order late October through early November.
