The new normal for many of us is working from home. For some of us, this is a dream come true and we are finding ourselves more productive than ever with less distractions and commute times. For the rest of us, we are finding it hard to concentrate, have much more distractions (homeschooling, anyone??) and lack of motivation to work where we go to get away from work.
All businesses are looking at creative ways to save money (#ConserveCash). Sure, there are things you probably invest in for your business, like marketing or R&D, but if it’s possible to save money and get the same results or better, that’s the solution you’ll pick every time.
Almost 10 years ago, I left my 12-year career in tech marketing (much of it spent at Microsoft) to become an early pioneer in the Innovation industry, helping to develop innovation programs for organizations all over the world. The startup I had joined for this was a “merry band” of 30 misfits who, while successful in their respective fields, felt stifled by the over-processed, very siloed culture most large corporations were about.
For most companies, the role of technology has become even more clear, as a result of recent events. Additionally, the reliance on technology will only increase, as teams get back to work (having to do more with less) as they repair and rebuild in the coming months.
In the recent weeks, businesses in every industry have found themselves needing to rapidly strategize and implement solutions to work remotely. For some, the transition came with little friction, while others were faced with an onslaught of decisions in order to keep business moving.
Sending your workers home because of COVID-19? Companies (large and small) across California and other states are taking precautions such as “work from home if coughing” or even “no one come in until further notice.”
